NADA & WADA Guidelines

The National Anti-Doping Agency (NADA) is an autonomous body under the Ministry of Youth Affairs & Sports. It implements India’s anti-doping programme — sample collection, results management, education, research, and intelligence — in line with the World Anti-Doping Code.

Athletes are responsible whenever a prohibited substance is found in their sample, whether use was intentional or not. Always check the current WADA Prohibited List with your federation and inform medical practitioners that you are bound by anti-doping rules.

Anti-Doping Rule Violations

  • Presence of a prohibited substance or its metabolites or markers in an athlete’s sample.
  • Use or attempted use of a prohibited substance or method.
  • Refusing or failing to submit to sample collection after notification.
  • Whereabouts failures or unavailability for testing.
  • Tampering with any part of doping control.
  • Possession, trafficking, or administration of a prohibited substance or method.
  • Prohibited association.
